I’ve been in a 100% dedicated safety role for a little over 14 years. I first moved into safety in 2006, working at a construction company. I was only 17 years old when I started working for them. I worked my way up to a supervisor position and once I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, I was offered a dedicated safety role and ended up staying there for 6 more years in that role.
After that I accepted a dedicated health and safety role at a transformer manufacturing plant in Mississippi and stayed there for several years before starting a new position at a Scotts Miracle Gro chemical liquids plant.
When Scotts decided to merge our plant with another location, I made the decision to transition to a role at NEW SOUTH.
